Ride Thoughts with Nik
Hey everyone, my name is Nik, aka NikTheeStallion. I'm a vet tech by day, and a motorcycle rider by night. When I'm not riding, I like to watch anime, play games on my PC, and attend raves/music festivals. Some of my favorite EDM artists are Excision, Subtronics, Kai Wachi, Matroda, Wax Motif, and Fisher. My top two favorite foods are sushi and tacos.
What was your first bike, and how did it feel to ride it?
My first bike was a 2023 Kawasaki Ninja 400. The first ride home from the dealership was the most terrifying 20 minutes of my life. I was so relieved to make it home safely in one piece and grateful that my mom could escort me in her car. Over time, as I rode more with the 400, I fell in love with both riding and the learning process. It felt like I’d finally unlocked a different kind of fun and freedom that I’d never experienced before.
What do you look for in riding gear? Style, comfort, or protection?
I look for all three! Out of all the brands I've tried, NBT checks off every box for me.
What advice would you give to someone just starting out riding?
Take your MSF course and get the basics down. Invest in QUALITY gear before getting your first bike. Start with a smaller cc bike (300cc - 650cc), then work your way up when you’re ready. Don’t skip insurance. Ride your own ride.
How does riding impact your mental health?
Riding has unlocked a unique kind of fun and freedom for me. When I need an escape, there’s nothing I’d rather do than hop on my bike, clear my head, and take a break from reality.

What’s the longest trip you’ve taken on your bike?
I can think of two long trips. The first was the ride home from the dealership when I got my ZX6R—a little over two hours from Jacksonville to Orlando. No better way to break in and learn a new bike! My second was a birthday ride out to the Raising Cane’s location in Port St. Lucie. At the time, it was the closest one to Orlando, about an hour and 40 minutes away. The food was well worth the long ride.
What’s your go-to piece of riding gear?
My black NBT LTR Aramid Edition pants. I love the convenience of the deep pockets, so I can carry all my essentials while I ride without needing a backpack or thigh bag.
What’s the craziest thing that’s ever happened to you while riding?
A few months ago, I got caught in the worst torrential downpour I’ve ever experienced. Of course, the weather radar had promised clear skies (thanks, FL). I’m pretty sure there was some minor hail while I was on the highway, and when I finally made it to residential roads, I drove through so many flooded areas, praying I wouldn’t have an accident. The cherry on top was when a truck passed by and sent a tsunami over me. It was embarrassing, but I hope the cars around got a good laugh out of it too.
What bike is at the top of your wish list right now?
A Gen 5 ZX10R. Hopefully, within a few years, I can add it to my collection.
Do you listen to music while riding? If so, what’s on your playlist?
I'm always jamming to music! I rotate through a few playlists—usually house music, phonk, or something with a chill, good-vibe beat.
How has riding influenced your relationships or friendships?
Riding has helped me form so many new friendships, whether in-person or online through social media networking. I’ve met and connected with so many cool people, and I hope to meet plenty more.
