Ride Thoughts With Dmitry Golubets
What’s up everyone! My name is Dmitry, I’m an active duty Canadian army mechanic who has been passionate about motorcycles since I saw my dad riding as a kid. I got my first bike 5 years ago and shortly after, I decided to get an Indian Scout Bobber. I wanted it to be unique and relying on my mechanical aptitude, I began to modify it.
Throughout the modification process, I realized that there was a shortage for cool, reliable, high quality, plug and play parts and decided to build my own. That grew into a small business and now, here we are 2 years later, making various plug and play parts for the Indian Motorcycle community under our company name StreetPilots!
Who inspired you to start riding?
I was inspired to ride by seeing my father be on a motorcycle since he was a kid.
What feeling do you get when you'reon your bike?
The feeling on the motorcycle is irreplaceable, from the wind in your hair to the sound of that engine. It’s amazing, it’s freeing and it’s a fantastic stress reliever.
What's your relationship with riding gear?
ATGAT - all the gear all the time, I’ve had friends wipe out not wearing gear and I don’t want that to happen to me. You can never anticipate an accident before leaving the house. No one goes out for a ride knowing they’re going to crash, so wear it all and be safe.
Your dream bike?
Dream bike is not a fair question, I think I will end up with a few more custom big bore bobbers, a bagger for road trips and another rocket for the canyons.
Thank you to NBT clothing for being one of the inspirations of following through with your dream and trying to make something for the riding community. My company started small and we continue to grow and better ourselves! So to leave you off on a note, follow through with your dreams!
